From Inculturation to Decoloniality: Liturgy, Culture, and Power
As the council of Societas Liturgica, we reaffirm our commitment to cultural plurality, religious freedom, and respectful dialogue among traditions. It is our hope that this Congress will advance the conceptual dialogue between inculturation and decoloniality, stimulate comparative research across different contexts, and contribute to the pastoral discernment of faith communities.
Proposed Thematic Axes
1. Scholarship on inculturation and decoloniality from around the globe.
2. Historical perspectives on inculturation and decoloniality in both Western and Eastern liturgical traditions.
3. Studies that bring Christian practices into dialogue with other religious and spiritual traditions.
4. Research on the interplay between liturgy, culture, and power.Submissions close on 31 October 2026.
